So there I am minding my own business, killing the enemy and capturing objectives. We red line the enemy and they are deep in the red line, so i switch to my Thale sniper rifle. I'm sitting there killing enemys when BAM! Team killed by a shotgun. Lost my thale. I don't think you should lose anything if your team killed. Officer weapons are not easy to come across. |

Yes i can see all of your points, and my point is if you want to be some troll, go play Halo or call of duty where there is no consequence for dying. I don't care if you, your friend, or your momma hates snipers. suck it up and play the game right. I also quote the guy who killed me did NOTHING to contribute to the team. Now yaw can't tell me you don't hate useless blueberries. And on a last note, I use my officer assault rifle, sub-machine gun, and sniper in FW all the time given the opportunity, so I'm use to losing them, just not to BS like friendly fire. |

But on that other note you made, I'm not one to argue, but what you are basically telling me is that if you see your teammate counter-hacking (like the game is suppose to be played), you will kill him, thus letting enemys spawn closer, putting your team in danger of losing more ISK than necessary, giving the enemy a second chance to come back and win. I'm sorry but Friendly Fire is not ok. I'm not asking them to get rid of it, they have consequences for team killing anyway. Your basically being a jerk by harming a teammate in the first place. We don't go to war in real life and purposely kill comrades because the weapon they use, or because you want their tank. I don't believe that is what CCP intended friendly fire to be for. But yes, I know i take that risk in FW, but i should hate the enemys, not my teammates. You know what I do when im not sniping? I'm down there in my proto logi healing everyone and supplying scans and ammo, now how do I deserve to be team killed anyway? |

I remember that the Tacnet thing was acting up so the team colors weren't showing. I remember seeing a sniper, panicking and shooting him. I'm not sure if this was you or not but either way, I'll feel better about myself if I give you a Thale when the player market starts up. I'm pretty sure I have one spare. HAHA nah man its cool. I'm not mad at the person, just at the fact I lost a thale.

Never in FW, that's for sure. Did you get his name? Do what I do when someone loses me one of my Thales, or does something equally douchey: write their name down and grief them into oblivion. I don't just do it for the remainder of the match. I will check to see if they're in every match I play for days, and I will single them out, objectives be damned. Once the player market and other stuff opens up, you could try putting a bounty on them. Oh man this brought me to tears of laughter. I like your idea, I do, but thats not me, but thx for the suggestion. |

I would team kill if my team has already redlined the enemy to the point where it gets relatively boring for the next 15 minutes. At that point, I would try to make it fair for the enemy to at least try to catch up. Yes, I know, people don't do this in real life. But we are immortal mercs here. We don't fight one time and die one time with perma-death against us. We respawn and have fun fighting each other like Vikings in Valhalla. I want to have fun as well, but I'm not going to have any fun at all if my team overwhelms the opposition too soon and we're stuck just waiting for the MCC to blow up. Believe it or not, there are organized squads out there who often let their enemy take an objective just to let them catch up a bit and keep the match interesting. Basically, we are trying to be fair in a boring match. you bring up a great point. |

This is exactly what the mechanic was designed for. For players to have more freedom to do as they please, be it accidentally hit a team mate, kill a friendly for hacking when you don't want him to, or to maul a comrade for the lols of it all. This is how Eve Online is played and by extension, how New Eden is governed. You don't like someone, make theirrgame life suck. Get Mad and get even. I'm a 08 Eve vet and if I've learned anything. It's that CCP doesn't do kitty gloves. If you want that, then go play Hello Kitty Adventure or something. HTFU , as the song goes. yeah, seems I'll have to take your advice, i quit COD and BF for this game and i'm not going back, but what about the consequence of killing teammates? I don't really like to make friend-enemys. |

John Demonsbane wrote:There has been more than one thread with otherwise reasonable players stating explicity that if they see someone using a Thale's in FW they will kill them. Nothing personal, people just want there to be less Thale's around to kill them later. I would never dream of bringing one into FW for this exact reason.
Heck, a lot of people I know, including myself, will not infrequenlty ignore everything else the rest of the match and relentlessly hunt someone who killed them with a Thales. If I go 1/8 but the one kill I got was that fcker who shot me with the Thales, I win. I won't lie, I do that too. Well the gun is OP. The world might be better off without em after all. |
